Twenty years ago De La Soul broke out onto the hip-hop scene and created a stir with their eclectic sampling and clever rhymes. Their debut album, 3 Feet High and Rising, was hailed as the future of hip-hop at the time and remains today one of the most influential works in its genre. In celebration of its 20th anniversary, De La Soul will be reworking tracks from this legendary album and recreating the music that made them one of the most relevant and enduring forces in hip-hop.
Special featured guests will include fellow old school hip hop artist Biz Markie, best known for his classic hit "Just a Friend." Local artists Tassho Pearce, Tempo Valley, Creed, Shella, and DJs from the Nocturnal Sound Krew will also perform.
